Digital Science Academy

About Us

Digital Science Academy is an innovative training company that builds game engines and interactive media. Our program was established in 2012 as an online community and has recently become an in-person game development group.

We guide you through the development process of building a game engine from scratch. Other schools teach individual courses on programming that will not result in a finished game. Our faculty and staff will lead you to make the sound choices throughout the development of your portfolio. Our process is based on years of teaching the latest technology specific to the game industry.

Our form of education is known as a flipped classroom. Instead of academics delivering lectures during class time and sending the student's home with an assignment, we complete our work on campus.

Faculty act as team leads and software architects, providing you guidance, instruction and leadership to your cohort. They will ensure the quality of your work is up to professional standards. Moreover, they provide personalized help at strengthening your weaknesses.

The skills we teach are some of the highest paying technology skills in the tech industry.

Student Success

Our students will be mentored by our team of full-time and part-time faculty of industry veterans. The program offers real-time support from our instructors. Online support is also provided outside of class time via the Internet on a first come first served basis.

Students are expected to complete assignments on time and dedicate at least 20-30 hours per week to the program. Classwork is designed to give you an overview of the material, while the capstone tasks will make you self-sufficient. Your effory and willingness to learn gives you the critical skills needed to have a career in technology.

Graduating students will have a portfolio of completed games and the capstone game to send to potential employers. This portfolio will ensure you stand out from the crowd when looking for future job prospects. Moreover, the finished game you produce will be yours to sell and license as you please.

Students are also provided training and business advice on publishing their game online for a profit. Although the success of any game cannot be predicted ahead of time, our staff have been through the process of selling software and can guide you along the way.

Affordability

The program is geared towards working individuals who have a passion for computer game development but may not have the time or the money to devote toward a degree.

Our program is one year in length totaling six courses. Each is two months with a short break in between. The fees for each course are $499.95 per course for a total cost of $2,999.70. The total cost for the program must be paid upfront to reserve a seat. Our fees are far less than any private school or community college. We keep our costs low by focusing on what matters most: providing instruction and support for our customers.

Students who dedicate enough time to the final project may be able to recoup the cost of the program in game sales. According to ZipRecruiter the average indie game developer makes $76,782 per year.
